Jose Leos
Skokie Police Officer | 14 year veteran
Jose L. Leos began his service to both his country and community by enlisting in the United States Navy. After completing his naval service, Jose became a Police Officer with the Village of Berkeley, Illinois Police Department where he served for 5 years. In 2006, Jose joined the Village of Skokie, Illinois Police Department. Officer Jose Leos served the community with distinction for 14 years not only as a Patrol Officer but also as an Evidence Technician and Crisis Negotiator for the Department’s Tactical Intervention Unit (TIU). Upon being diagnosed with advanced-stage lung cancer despite being a non-smoker, Officer Leos’ main concern was for his family. Officer Leos is survived by his wife and two children.
OUR BENEFICIARIES
This charitable cause is designed to benefit the Skokie Police Benevolent Fund, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, and the 100 Club of Illinois. The Skokie Police Benevolent Fund was founded to help those both in the Police Department and the Skokie community during financial and/or medical hardships. The Lung Cancer Research Foundation’s (LCRF) mission is to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of lung cancer. To date, LCRF has provided 409 research grants totaling over $42 million, the largest amount provided by an organization dedicated to funding lung cancer research. The 100 Club of Illinois provides resources, several forms of financial support, access to training, and moral support to both the families of first responders killed in the line of duty and active duty first responders throughout the state of Illinois.
In order to make this golf outing a success, we are in need of raffle prizes and monetary contributions. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by IRS rules and regulations and are very much appreciated. We will be accepting donations through Friday, July 19th, 2024. Please make checks payable to “Skokie FOP Lodge 68.” You may mail in or drop off your donation and/or raffle prize(s) to the Skokie Police Department, 7300 Niles Center Rd. Skokie, IL 60077.
(Attn: Officer Long).
At the conclusion of the 4th Annual Jose Leos Memorial Charity Golf Outing, the Skokie Fraternal Order of Police
(FOP) Lodge 68 will be making three charitable donations to the above beneficiaries.
